Where should I put the alarm?

It is recommended that a CO alarm is used in or near every room that contains a heating or cooking appliance. Approval standards state that the alarm should be located at least 5ft above floor level for the following reasons:

• Carbon Monoxide is approximately the same density as air and being produced by cooking and heating appliances, will be released with warm air which will initially rise.

• The alarm sensors will not be obstructed by furniture.
