The UK’s fastest growing companies are on the Stock Market, right? And I guess they must be in IT, or maybe defence, or oil? As to private companies, they’re probably tiny by comparison, aren’t they, and not making much money? Wrong, wrong and again wrong.
Small companies frequently surpass big on speed of service. And 001 ReactFast Solutions (78) knows it. It’s building a nationwide emergency call-out service: plumbing, electrics, locks, boarding, glazing and carpentry are all covered.
About the hot 100
The Real Business/LDC Hot 100 is a ranking of the fastest growing privately owned companies in Great Britain, using accounts filed at Companies House up to March 7 2006. It is based on compound average growth rates measured over a four-year period. (CAGR is the single rate of growth by which the starting value would have to grow by each year to reach the final ending value.) To qualify, the latest accounts needed to show sales in excess of £5m and be profitable.
(All profits and margins referred to in this article are based on operating profits). Accounts had to be filed accounts in the past two years and all companies needed to be actively trading. No company was included if Jordans could not supply a credit rating. Subsidiary companies were not allowed. Companies that have floated or been sold since the latest accounts were filed are noted in the main chart.
